Work experience students 2023

CZWG has a long history of welcoming work experience and summer placements and take part each year in university mentoring programmes and career days.

This year the practice has welcomed 14 students from the University of Westminster, the American School in London and as part of our first collaboration with The Design Museum’s Ardagh Young Creatives programme aimed at young people aged 14–16 based in London from underrepresented groups.

CZWG Architectural Designer Kevin Wang and Part II Zinab Zaaiter encouraged the students to explore a critical approach to design, culminating in a presentation on the evolution of their ideas and final concept to the office.

Zinab said: “It was fantastic to help the students respond to the brief - they we're given support from the team through daily design tutorials and were invited to take part in other activities taking place in the office.”

All the students said that they had found the experience working in practice insightful and beneficial. Westminster University student Sarah Hosseinian said: “Exploring how an architectural practice operates and delving into the various considerations and conditions involved in the design process has been fascinating. This opportunity to gain industry-level understanding has helped to broaden my career aspirations.”

CZWG are committed to encouraging a wider dialogue about the role of architects to the public as well as future members of the industry. Thank you to all the students for your time with us, and we wish you the very best of luck with your future careers.
