Grosvenor Estates are developing an exemplary new shopping precinct in Liverpool, based on improved streets, squares and a spectacular park. As a first stage of implementation, a well-known hairdresser, Herbert’s of Liverpool, is relocating its salon and school to the lower half of a new building on the corner of Hanover Street and School Lane, the upper half being office space. Placed between two exuberantly Edwardian buildings, the design celebrates views of and from the surroundings with three major bay windows set into wrap-around curtain walling enriched with deep mullions and transoms.
