Sanjiv Gohil was born in Kenya of Indian descent, and came to the UK in 1967. He studied atKingstonUniversity, winning the Lovell Memorial Trust Award (RIBA) and Commendation for his Diploma in 1984 and a British Council Scholarship in 1985. He worked in the offices of the Casson Conder Partnership between 1984 and 1985 before joining CZWG in 1986 , made an Associate in 1994 and a partner in 2006.

Sanjiv has worked on many projects for CZWG from the early stages of the planning process through to completion. These include the landmark residential Cascades Tower, Isle of Dogs; commercial development in Vauxhall, SW8; a series of residential loft developments for Manhattan Loft Corporation in Summers Street, Clerkenwell, EC1; Soho Lofts, Wardour Street, W1, Bankside Lofts, Southwark, SE1. 

Other areas of his experience are in high density residential developments: Millennium Harbour and Aldgate East, E1, feasibility studies in Nottingham Town Centre, mixed use development at Fulham Island, SW6 , the National Portrait Gallery Regency Galleries in 2003 and masterplans for New Laurieston, Glasgow and Brewery Square, Dorchester.
 
Sanjiv  is currently working on the detailed design for the 11.2 acre, former Eldridge Pope brewery site in Dorchester for Andrew Wadsworth and Robert Ackland, whose previous projects with the practice wereChinaWharf and The Circle.
