Rex Wilkinson
Partner

Rex was born in North Yorkshire in 1947 and studied architecture contemporaneously with his future partners at the AA school. After graduation in 1971, he led a team restoring a castle in Scotland before going on to join the current partnership. He taught architecture at the AA and the University of Westminster, where he subsequently became a visiting examiner.

At CZWG, Rex’s role is to spear-head design and he is particularly interested in construction technology and legislation and its impact upon architecture. Sustainability issues have always concerned him and he has recently completed an energy efficient house for himself on a mountainside in the Alps. Rex has also led the practice’s work in the field of transport architecture and planning, working on studies for a new coach terminal for London and a light rail system for Leeds, and retail design, directing projects for Windsor and Breda, Netherlands.

Rex also contributes to various professional journals.
