CZWG is a creative design-led practice operating without preconceptions, in an environment which encourages openness and engagement.
There is a quality that distinguishes its work in the field. The ethos of the practice has always been based on strong design flair and good practical, economic sense. Projects are often based on imaginative responses to their context, but are also about architectural ideas. Each new project develops an identity of its own, whether an evolution of a design theme or a completely new response to perceived needs.
The prolific output of CZWG’s built work covers a broad spectrum of development and building types, including mixed use & residential, masterplanning & regeneration, shopping & leisure, education, community & healthcare and the workplace. Projects range in size from large scale urban regeneration projects to the individual house and exhibition design.
COMPANY STRUCTURE
There are ten partners in the practice, eight of which are on the design management side and two on the administrative side. A project will be headed up by a design partner who will be responsible for all aspects of the scheme and its development. The core team for a project will be drawn from the whole resource of the practice with no fixed teams which allows both for flexibility and an opportunity for staff to have a diversity of roles throughout their work. There are a further five associates who make up the management team and attend the fortnightly management meetings ensuring that ideas are shared there from across the office.
Fortnightly project presentations take place in the main atrium space at CZWG offices. They are an opportunity for staff to find out about the projects which are taking shape within the office and provides an informal basis for discussion and office updates.
The practice often like to have a bit of fun and go exploring. After office hours the atrium space at CZWG's offices becomes the focal point for table tennis and table football tournaments to take place. Regular offices trips are organised to go and explore places of interest and often include visits to the practice's completed buildings for further inspiration. We also like to have a party or two where food, good wine and great company is always welcome!
